The Thai
Child Development Foundation is located on
a mountain in Bahn Paksong, municipality of Phato. It is a beautiful
area, with lots of rain forest, and a river surrounding the premises.
The main income of the people in Bahn Paksong is farming
(fruit), so you will also find a lot of plantations.
Runs 'N Roses,
an eco-tourism project set up to support the foundation financially,
is also located on the same mountain. So, if your friends or family
want to visit you during your project, they can stay in on of the
beautiful bungalows or rooms of Runs 'N
Roses!
Location of projects
Most of the projects are done on the premises of the
Thai Child Development Foundation
or in the area of Phato and within 1 hour travel distance of the
Thai Child Development Foundation.
For most of the projects the volunteers will stay
at the volunteer-house: a house with a dormitory for volunteers
to live. It is a shared dormitory (boys and girls) with 6 bunk beds,
a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining area and an outside sitting area.
It is not a big house and you should not expect a lot of privacy.
For 'The World I Live in', volunteers will live and
stay for 3 days per week at the location where they will do their
projects. A house near the school, the home of a teacher or student
for example.
In April and October all volunteers who participate
in 'the English Summer Camp' project will live and work in the school:
mats on the floor, simple living condition and sharing the bathroom
with many!
