Reports on Children's Home-project

On this page you can find reports, concerning activities and projects in the Children's Home project of the Thai Child Development Foundation.

The Children's Home Is really meant to be a home, not just a house where children can eat, sleep and prepare for school. The home is a place full of love where bedtime stories are being read, holidays and trips are organized, a place where we listen to what a person has to say, no matter what their age is. A place where all people are special and everyone is stimulated and encouraged to develop their talents to create many possibilities for a bright future... while enjoying the present of course! The children in the Children's Home are all brothers and sisters and live with Rose like a family. In addition, for the children who will leave one day, this home will remain a safe, loving place where they are always welcome.

The Children's Home has just opened recently. There are not many people who know of the possibilities jet, nor is there a lot of space in the (rental) house. On the present location the Children's Home can take in up to 15 children. In the near future Rose hopes to buy land and build a big home that can offer room to many children.

Bee and Maria

At the moment Bee and Maria live in the home. Bee is 17 years old and stopped attending school after giving birth to Maria on January 24th, 2004. She is now taking care of Maria together with Rose and has picked up her education part time.

Aside from this, Bee has the household task of cooking and she teaches Thai cooking courses for the guests of Runs 'N Roses lodge. This way she makes some pocket money while contributing to the household.

Maria is being raised in three languages and has a family to love her and play with her so that her mother can also remain a child for now.

Dau and Duan

Since June 2005 Dau and Duan live in the Children's Home. Dau (her name means star) is a three year old little princess. Her sister is named Duan (Thai for moon) is one year and a half. Quite a little lady she is.

Dau and Duan's mother left the family beginning of this year. Their father had to work all day and was not able to take proper care of his daughters. They lived with neighbors and people of the village.

Dau and Duan are welcome members of Roos' family now and they like living in the house with everybody else.
