Peung
 Peung
Peung is an 18-year-old girl, who lives with her family in Pak Song,
a small village near Phato. Peung studies economy. Peung's father
is very ill after an accident and can not provide his family with
money anymore. Therefor the family can not pay for Peung's study.
The foundation takes care of her monthly costs at school (dormitory,
food, books, computer-use and college fee) as well as her weekly
trip home for the weekend. This will allow her to finish her education
in economics. She has two more years to go until her graduation,
after which she will be able to get a good job and support both
her parents as well as her two younger brothers financially.
At the moment Peung is doing very well, she has to work hard to
get the right grades but she is getting there. This summer holiday
(April) she will be working to help her parents out financially.
Bee and Maria
At the moment Bee and Maria live in the Children's home. Bee is
19 years old and stopped attending school after giving birth to
Maria on January 24th, 2004. She is now taking care of Maria together
with Rose and has picked up her education part time.
Aside from this, Bee has the household task of cooking and she
teaches Thai cooking courses for the guests of Runs 'N
Roses lodge. This way she gets some pocket money while contributing
to the household.
Maria is being raised in three languages and has a family to love
her and play with her so that her mother can also remain a child
for now.
Both Bee and Maria are doing very well. Bee is doing great in school
and is a happy, cheerful girl in the home.
