The Thai Child Development Foundation can help children thanks to the support of many motivated volunteers, Thai and international, and the support of the local authorities and helpful villagers.

Besides that we are working hard to become self sustainable in daily life throughout several projects such as our organic vegetable garden and fish farm. Next to the work for the children we run other supporting projects (Art Eco natural product shop, Runs 'N Roses Eco tourism bungalows and activities, a restaurant) to create an income and be as less dependent on donations as possible.

However, we still do need support to run our social support projects for the underprivileged children in Phato. If you would like to support the work of the Thai Child Development Foundation, there are several ways to do this.

1. Make a financial donation to the donation that will be directly and fully used for our underprivileged children in the Social Branch of the foundation.

2. Become a Friend of TCDF by donation 15 Euro every month

3. Become an Ambassador of TCDF

4. Visit us and stay in a riverside bungalow

5. Come and work as a volunteer in Phato

Financial donation
At this moment the Thai Child Development Foundation supports 37 children under her Social Branch in the projects Medical Care, Nutrition, Scholarship and Foster care. Your donation will support the children in one of these projects directly. People who make a financial donation are welcome to notify us on which project they would like their money spend. If you do not choose a specific project the staff will decide which children and projects are in need the most at that specific moment. On the page Finances (brown button) you can find an indication of the monthly costs per child in the specific projects.

100 Friends of TCDF
The Thai Child Development Foundation is working very hard on becoming self-sufficient through various projects and initiatives in our Supporting Roots program. However, for the social support of our children we are still dependent on donations.

Being dependent on donations is a very uncertain situation. In times of trouble or disasters all over the world such as the tsunami, genocide, wars and also economical crises it is almost impossible, and sometimes even rude, to try to raise funds for something less critical at that moment…however important it might be.

But how can we explain to a 6 year old who just went to school for the first time thanks to the support of the Thai Child Development Foundation, that he has to skip this year? Or how can we delay the physical therapy for our handicapped children for a while due to lack of funds while they have improved so so much the last year thanks to consistent treatment?

For 1500 Euro a month all the work for our underprivileged 37 children can continue at any time. We can stop the building of a center for physiotherapy, we can postpone hiring extra staff for our outreach program, but we cannot stop the support we are offering to these children who are so full of trust in us.

This is the reason that we would like to ask our friends, family, (ex) volunteers and guests and other people who believe in what we do to officially become one of the 100 FRIENDS OF TCDF. If all 100 Friends donated 15 Euro every month we can continue on supporting our children no matter what happens…

Ambassador for TCDF
Over the years so many people have visited us in Phato or have become involved with the Thai Child Development Foundation is some other way and have offered their support. Many people said good-bye while adding;" If there is ever anything I can do for the Thai Child Development Foundation just let me know…".

Between taking care of the children spread out over miles and miles of dirt road mountains, organizing educational activities in 17 different schools, running a Eco lodge, hosting guests, doing basic fundraising, marketing, , acting as manager, director, host, teacher, mother, friend, secretary, constructor, gardener and whatever else at the same time and taking care of volunteers who also get sick, stuck, brokenhearted…. we never really took the time put some things on paper on how people could help internationally.

However times are changing,… the Thai Child Development Foundation is growing, more children means more need of funding. Next to that our dedicated team is so well trained by now that it functions wonderful, leaving some more time for the management to focus on new projects. The time has come that we are in need of Ambassadors for the Thai Child Development Foundation, a network of people who would like to introduce the Thai Child Development Foundation and her projects to the world!

Come and stay at Runs 'N Roses
All donations to the Thai Child Development Foundation are spent directly on the children in the SOCIAL projects and are not used for overhead costs. To cover the costs for organizing the projects the management of the Thai Child Development Foundation also runs a commercial company: Runs 'N Roses eco-tourism.

Runs 'N Roses is set up only to support the Thai Child Development Foundation. This way the Thai Child Development Foundation is less dependent on donations.

Runs 'N Roses has 3 beautiful riverside bungalows and 4 rooms available for guests. For people who are interested to learn more about the activities of the Thai Child Development Foundation, as well as in relaxing in the middle of nature far away from mass-tourism, it is the perfect place to be.

Runs 'N Roses is set up to support the Thai Child Development Foundation with facilities, staff and financial aid. Come and work as an volunteer (Educational Branch only)
The work in the SOCIAL branch of the Thai Child Development Foundation is only possible by working closely together with Thai, local professionals who can develop a long term bond of trust with the children and their care takers.

The work within the EDUCATIONAL branch however, is possible thanks to a constant rotating group of Thai and international volunteers guided by a professional coordinator, Ingrid van der Straaten.

The Foundation works closely together with all the local schools and several related governmental projects.
