 Volunteering in Phato

Matthjis at the rehabilation center with one of the kidsSince April 2005 the Thai Child Development Foundation developed several projects where volunteers can participate in. International volunteers as well as Thai volunteers. The voluntary work is based on practical work and educational projects. The foundation works small scale within these projects. It's all about quality, not quantity.

Longterm projects
Thirteen (13) volunteers can participate in projects for a period of one to three months. For these projects the foundation created several programs on education, construction and environment, garden and horses.

Shortterm projects
Next to the longterm projects, we are organizing short term projects.
The Natural Building project - Dindang - organizes on monthly base programs that last for two weeks.
The Environmental project - Bai Thong - organizes programs for a period of one week, starting in May 2008.

An overview and description of all these projects, the work involved and volunteers needed you can find on the project-page of this web-site. Most of the projects involve creative learning and/or education in one way or an other.

Xplore program for Dutch volunteers.
For Dutch people it is important to know that the projects of the Thai Child Development Foundation are also a part of the JoHo Xplore program. Xplore is a subsidized program for young people from 12 to 30 years old. Via JoHo Xplore young people can participate in exchanges or internships in development countries. So they can experience on their own how thing work there. To experience why it is important to work together. And to share this experiences and that message with other people in Holland. Young people who participate in this program have to share their experiences with others after their return to Holland. Xplore is a program of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Click here to visit the web site of JoHo and find out if you can come to visit us with the help of this program.
